The 36th Annual Christmas Revels

This year The Christmas Revels goes north and wild to an 18th century village in Quebec. Time for magical storytelling, toe-tapping tunes, high energy clogging, the rousing and poignant songs of the voyageurs and le temps des Fêtes – which includes both the solemn and beautiful songs of Christmas Eve and the boisterous, secular songs of the new year.

The Christmas Revels revives the ancient connection between the community and the arts, between celebration and the seasons, as it creates a celebrating village onstage that ends up encompassing the whole theater. Unique in its intentional blending of community and professional theater and its blending of folk and more formal forms of song and dance, the material is ancient, beautiful, funny and strong and has an unusual way of touching the players and the large, multi-age audiences.
