Adapted from the best-selling novel by Amy Tan, The Joy Luck Club is the story of four Mahjong playing mothers, all from different provinces in China, and their relationships with their children. Despite the many generational and societal differences among them, there still is much common ground between mothers and daughters, as well as shared respect and love. This classic mother-daughter tale weaves universal themes of sacrifice, strength, wishes for a better life, hope and love.
