Since opening in 1971, The Kennedy Center has been America's living memorial to President Kennedy. The Kennedy Center is the nation's busiest arts facility, presenting more than 3,000 performances each year for audiences approaching 2 million. An additional 20 million each year attend touring Kennedy Center productions or tune in to television or radio broadcasts, including the Kennedy Center Honors, the Mark Twain Prize, The Kennedy Center Presents, and Billy Taylor's Jazz at the Kennedy Center on National Public Radio.
